It is a great privilege to lead others to care for orphans in need. It is heartbreaking to see these babies in the orphanage where we serve packed in cribs and needing so much much attention. The workers do their best, but they are far outnumbered. Seeing firsthand the need for help, I am certain that God calls us to be the ones to care for the orphan in distress in a variety of ways. He says this is pure and undefiled religion in His sight. So... we do it. We get to be a part of God's

Seeing God in a new way – Tess Frost
Tess Frost is a freshman at the University of Arkansas. She is studying nursing with the desire to serve in Kenya in her future. She joined her first Go Near trip to Kenya in 2016 and returned back with us in 2017. Her insights challenge us to pursue God’s face and His presence and to serve Him with our lives. Leading teams with students like Tess encourages me as I see young people embrace God's purpose to serve others with their lives. From Tess: Both trips I have taken to
THANKFUL – Pulaski Academy donates hundreds of pairs of socks for Kenyan children
Go Near Ministry is THANKFUL for the 3rd grade teachers and students at Pulaski Academy. Last October, the students celebrated Socktober and gathered 665 pairs of socks that we gave to children in Kenya this summer. I returned to PA (my alma mater) this week to collect hundreds of pairs of socks from this year's class to distribute on future trips. The students were eager to learn about life in Africa and as you can see in the video, they were so excited to share with the children in
Experiencing the vastness of God’s love – Beth Ann Berkman
I am so thankful that God brought Beth Ann Berkman into my life and ministry. Beth Ann graduated from Baylor University and is a marketing associate with Westrock coffee (great coffee that empowers farmers in Africa). We instantly connected because we both have a burning passion for God and the people of Kenya. Beth Ann started taking her trips to serve in Nairobi during high school and previously spent a month teaching the "Teach the Whole Bible" curriculum in the Kiberia slums. She traveled
Jesus is moving mightily all around the world- Brett Likens
Brett Likens and her daughter, Ellie joined the 2017 summer trip. Brett and her husband serve with SEARCH ministries. She homeschools her four children and is active at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Little Rock. Brett offered mature wisdom for our team and a motherly love to the children in Africa. My favorite memory is when Brett shared in the prison wearing shower flip -flops because she gave her shoes away. What a picture of humble, Christ-like love and service. Read her thoughts

Thankful and reliant on the Lord from Going Near- Tanner Caton
One of the things that I am most thankful for is seeing young people emerge with a call on their lives to want to serve the Lord. One young man that we have had the privilege of "going near" with us is Tanner Caton. Read his testimonial and take a moment to pray for him as he steps up to answer the call to ministry. Be encouraged. In the past few years I have been pursuing a call to ministry, and especially to missions. I have been able to “Go Near” to Kenya twice now, and both
Thankful to care for the “least of these” and what it means
Mayse Pippin (University of Arkansas nursing student) cares for infant at Happy Life Children's Home I am so thankful that our volunteers return to Happy Life Children's Home every year to help care for babies and children who are rescued from neglect, abandonment or abuse. We share in the daily tasks to help lighten the heavy load for workers that care for approx. 100 infants and children at Happy Life Children’s Home. Everyday the workers prepare meals from scratch, wash by hand countless
