In a remote village in Western Kenya, we once showed the Jesus Film to a group of children, singing Bible songs in their heart language. Their laughter filled the room, but behind their smiles was a harsh reality: many of these children lived in extreme poverty, some working just to find food, most having never set foot in a church.
Before we left, a teacher pulled me aside. She had a simple but urgent request: she wanted to teach the children the Bible at school and start an after-school Bible club—but her school had only three Bibles for 423 students.

That moment changed everything. It reminded us why our ministry is called Go Near Ministry—because real change happens when we go near to people’s needs, step into their lives, and meet them where they are. We returned home and asked our friends to help, raising funds to provide Bibles for that school—and then for many more.
We returned to that school with the Bibles they had requested. The celebration was unforgettable—children singing, teachers thanking us, and the joy of God’s Word finally in their hands.
Today, thousands of Bibles have found their way into schools across Kenya. Each one carries more than words—it carries hope, faith, and the chance for children to encounter God’s love for the very first time.
The need is still great, and many children, teachers, and churches continue to wait for God’s Word. That’s why Go Near Ministry remains committed to giving Bibles to schools, churches, and communities in greatest need—one Bible, one classroom, one child at a time.
