Every day, I walk onto a school campus that is home to 200 incredible children. This is more than a place of learning—it is a place of safety, growth, and hope. Some children live on campus at the children’s home, while others come each day from communities facing extreme poverty. Many have been orphaned or rescued, and all depend on the generosity of others to meet their most basic needs.
What humbles me most is this: the children never complain, and they are grateful for even the simplest gifts. Their resilience is quiet and steady. Their gratitude is sincere. It is a privilege to witness it every single day.
I am equally humbled by the generosity of the people who make such a difference in their lives. Because of that generosity, real and tangible needs were met this year. Children received clean, durable uniforms and shoes that actually fit. They were given tools for learning—textbooks, reading books, Bibles, educational supplies, and backpacks to carry them all. These may seem like simple things, yet they make an extraordinary difference. A uniform restores dignity. A backpack filled with books opens doors to curiosity, confidence, and hope.
Through generosity, those needs were met.
The impact has reached far beyond the students themselves. For the teachers who serve these children day after day, having proper resources has been deeply meaningful. With textbooks to guide lessons, books to encourage reading, and supplies to support learning, teachers are able to teach with greater confidence, creativity, and joy.
Watching the students receive new uniforms, sturdy shoes, backpacks, and books has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my work here. The joy was immediate and unmistakable.
This is what generosity makes possible. It meets practical needs, restores dignity, and strengthens an entire school community.
