Making Impact

Because of God’s faithfulness and the generosity of friends like you, lives across East Africa have been touched with the hope of Jesus Christ in powerful and practical ways.

This past year, we have partnered with local pastors and churches to bring the Gospel to some of the most remote and vulnerable communities in Kenya and neighboring countries. Thousands of people have watched the life of Jesus presented in their own language—many hearing and seeing the Gospel clearly for the first time.

Your partnership has helped make it possible to:

  • Share the Gospel with thousands through village outreaches and evangelistic film presentations.
  • Place hundreds of Bibles into the hands of children, students, pastors, and new believers eager to grow in God’s Word.
  • Equip pastors and ministry leaders with training and resources so they can disciple and strengthen their local churches.
  • Care for vulnerable children by providing education, nutritious meals, clothing, school supplies, and the love and stability of a Christ-centered children’s home.
  • Support families and communities with practical assistance, including food, hygiene supplies, and reusable sanitary pads that help girls remain in school.
  • Strengthen local churches to become centers of hope, compassion, and discipleship within their communities.

Every number represents a person created in God’s image—a child discovering hope, a pastor encouraged to continue serving faithfully, a family experiencing the love of Christ, or someone opening a Bible in their own language for the very first time.

How can you get involved?

“We first learned of some of the "adventures" of Melody and Lewis through personal interactions. Real people doing real tangible work in Africa. We decided to support GoNear financially because we felt that our resources, that God had so graciously provided to us, would be used to directly impact the people in these villages in the name of Jesus. As if we ourselves were delivering the needed items and the good news of our savior. We are confident of Melody and Lewis' stewardship of what is given. When we give to GoNear we are not supporting the administration of a large organization, we are partnering with Melody and Lewis who are "boots on the ground" where we can't be. Melody's timely communications and updates helps us to share in the joy and/or trials and respond in prayer.”
