Dear friends,
God’s word has much to say about the blessings we receive when we care for the poor. What an amazing God we serve who loves us and rewards us as we go about His business. We are rewarded here on earth and in the eternal life to come. Be encouraged. Ask God to lead you on paths of righteousness for His names sake. We can live expectantly for God’s blessings as we pursue His will in our lives. Melody
“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always, he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden; like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58: 10-11
“A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25
“He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.” Proverbs 19:17
“He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.” Proverbs 28:27
“‘He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 22:16
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come you who are blessed by my Father take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. “(Matthew 25: 34-36)
