- Uzimatele students eager to greet visitors
Uzimatele Educational Center- Go Near Ministry partners with Pastor George Otieno in supporting this Christian primary school in Gituamba slums. It is strategically located adjacent to a Muslim training center to counter Islamic infiltration. The larger white & green building in the photo below is the Muslim training school.
The majority of residents in Gituamba slums were displaced and live in extreme poverty without safe and affordable options for primary education. Most are female-led homes.
Go Near Ministry helps fund school room construction, teacher salaries and the school feeding program. This may be only meal children have for the day. As a result of adding a nutritious lunch 100 children are in school. New classrooms are being built every year.
A hearty, nutritious meal for our students is cooked on site everyday.

Our teams bring donated supplies from our community to share with school children in Kenya. Uzimatele students receive their own full size pencil and large notebook. This is a first and a BIG treat.
Teaching can be fun. LRCA students make alphabet charts and teach in creative ways at Uzimatele school.
